Spreadsheets to ERP Module

We replaced 50+ spreadsheets with one ERP module. Zero hours of production stopped.

The hard part was never the software.

Floor management didn't want the system. Senior management wanted real-time visibility into what was actually happening on the production floor. I was building for one group while the other hoped it would fail.

The old process had hidden steps nobody had documented. Production supervisors "adjusted" line output before the numbers reached costing. Everyone knew. Nobody wrote it down.

When the system started reporting real numbers, the costing team assumed it was broken. It wasn't.

The spreadsheets had been lying for years.

An ERP doesn't just digitise a process. It exposes it. Half of enterprise architecture is technical. The other half is being ready for what the data reveals — and for the people who'd rather it didn't.

Anyone else had a system "fail" by being too accurate?
